Since Origins, they've only ever referenced it once (Days of Future Past), so it's fair to assume that Fox doesn't care about it.

Movies are so expensive nowadays (besides outliers like Deadpool) I guess it's hard to make it that high. That being said, the discussion of whether a movie is financially successful or not is separate from the discussion of whether a movie is good or not. I don't own the Dredd blu ray because of its box office performance, or Watchmen, or 300 (which did very well), I own those movies because I like them.
